Edited by: Four Degrees on 02/09/2008 15:44:58 I kind of wish the forums/website were down, then you wouldn't get so many panicked individuals in this thread screaming bloody murder that they want the patch now, just so they can save themselves that extra two nanoseconds when it roars online.
Downloading the linked patch could be dodgy, given that it's entirely possible said patch may be modified. Highly unlikely but I'll be doing what's expected and just chill until it's offered via the client.
Is it up? No. 1700 GMT ETA. Is the patch available officially? No.
People, eh?

It seems to be kosher, what with the site having shown up here: http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=517
Did you even go to your own link?
I wish I had a job at CCP to just sit and clear up some of this mess.

P.S: long sometimes mean several days ... and if the patch is not stable they have to roll the system back ... or at least restore from the backup ... =]
This is no different from any other patch to date. Some have been early, with no instability, others delayed for hours and/or plagued by instability.
Stop overreacting. _____________________________________________

Originally by: Chandaar So as I asked and still dont have an answer, how much longer before its back online?
19:00 GMT, as has already been said. It's an ETA value.
And in regards to your earlier post, no matter how you *****, scream and kick-off it won't get anything done any quicker - the process takes how long it takes. Encouraging others to join in on some sort of shitstorm will, if anything, only alienate the community from the Devs.
Info will be given in due time. _____________________________________________

I'm a student, so I'm fairly flexible on when I want to play, but at the same time I am busy during the semester. Regardless, I don't rage that it's down probably like 10 days a year or so. (Just throwing out a figure, not sad enough to calculate it.)
Coming from games/mods where the distance between the Developers and the community was much greater and suffered greatly due to not having the cooperation of each party or the Developers having no clue what their players want.
EVE is the first commercial game (that I've played, there are others. Normally player developed mods where community is everything.) where the relationship between the community and the Developers is great. (Good balance of taking what the players want into consideration while still steering the ship to avoid catering to every single person.) I'm sure some people would agree with me, perhaps not everyone.
The more the community becomes alienated from the Developer, the harder it is to have input on the game you play. Question answered? _____________________________________________
